Tips and Guides buying your first Vibram Five Fingers Shoes Online

Tips and Guides that can help you (I hope it will) in choosing or buying your first Vibram five fingers online, may applicable as well even though you don't buy it online:

1. learn about barefoot running.
Do you know enough? do you have any preparation?
you can go to this link to know more about barefoot running or read my experience of barefoot running with vibram five fingers.

2. Decide which one.
do some research (go to the vibram official website here), identify which one you want to purchase. Vibram five fingers shoes have so many types.
Basically there are 3 types
A. original
this range includes KSO, sprint, classical and flow
the thinness sole, offer the maximum ground feel.
less protection

B. protection
this range includes bikila, speed, bikila ls, komodo sport.
more protection compared to the original
less ground feel but you still able to feel the ground. normally this is have some specialist purpose: like hiking running or cross training.

C. Max
this range includes KSO TrekSport
the thickest sole.
maximum protection.

find out why you want to buy the vibram five fingers shoes, is it for casual walk? jogging? running? gym? hiking?

if you are first timer and want to know the feel go for the A. the original
if you are a runner need extra protection go for B.protection (Bikila  or speed)
for gym, cross training, all round shoes A.the original or B.protection (komodo sport)
for hiking C.Max KSP TrekSport.

3. Measure and Try it!
to measure you size you can see this video

and go to this size conversion

the best is that just go to the nearest shop and try it! you will now whether you like it or not or what is the size that you need to wear.

tips: if you can't find your size because your foot is too small for the Vibram Five Fingers Shoes try the woman size. my size is 39 which I think bikila for men the smalles is 40 so I take w39.

4. Run with it!
when you are in the store ... try it on both feet ... don't be shy, the shoes are not cheap so just run with it! try to jog ... okay don't run away with the shoes :p
walk it, just to have the feel of the shoes

5. Slowly!
I know the feeling that you want run faster and longer with this shoes, just make sure you don't over do it. Run no more than 10% of your typical running distance for the first 2–3 weeks

After 2–3 weeks, gradually increase mileage by 10%–20% every couple of weeks

If you ever start to feel pain during a run, stop! You can always try again in a couple of days
Never run 2 days in a row for the first month

Stretch before and after each run, focusing on calves and feet, because Vibram FiveFingers running will stimulate these muscles

If, after several weeks of training, you are consistently very sore, you need to rest and back-off on your mileage
