how to apply German or Schengen Visa in Singapore

how to apply German or Schengen Visa in Singapore for Indonesian, Filipino, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, etc

you can get all the information from the Singapore German Embassy over here

1. book your appointment online
click here Singapore Germany Embassy Appointment Schedule System
please do this as soon as possible, especially if you have a tight time frame. this is the only way to get appointment and there is no express visa.
the only way to get an early appointment in German Embassy is by checking the appointment system everyday. once you see a earlier time slot, cancel your current one and book the earlier date.

Another thing that you need to know is that for some nationalities (mention above), it will take at approximately 14 Working days! I had a bad experience about this, I didn't know and end up I need to arrange my travel.

2. Prepare all the document + one copy
here is the checklist to apply German or Schengen Visa in Singapore for Tourist visa
here is the checklist to apply German or Schengen Visa in Singapore for Business visa
any other visa you can see the checklist here (at the bottom of the page)

3. Go early on your appointment day
be punctual! how to go to German Embassy in Singapore?
the address is here: 50 Raffles Place #12-00
Singapore Land Tower Singapore 048623. Telephone : (+65) 6533 6002

you can alight at Raffles MRT Station take exit A or B. if you take exit A after you take the escalator look for the ANZ Bank (blue banner on your right, at 1PM direction) just walk toward the ANZ bank, walk pass it and you'll find the entry to the Singapore Land Tower.

if you take exit B after you come out from the exit turn left and you'll see the blue banner on your left.

you need to get your visitor pass at the receptionist and proceed to the 12th floor.

there will be a guard checking your appointment date and time, and then just sit down until they call your name.

please take a note that on the day you submit your appointment you need to pay the visa fee at the exact amount S$$110.

check the name on your reciept before leaving the counter (they've got my name wrong)

4. On the day of Collection.
collection is from 9am - 11am, no prior appointment needed just go there show your reciept.
do not forget to bring your passport on the day of collection.  they will no ticket / and they will not call your name, instead the counter will call "Anyone come for visa collection?" then you go to counter 2 submit your reciept they will tell you to wait and call you back.

hope this guide will help you, especially if you are first time applying German or Schengen Visa in Singapore.

just post a comment if you have any question, but I can only answer from my experience :D
  1. hi... me and my brother are planning to go to Germany but we are originally from Myanmar, studying here in SG. We got invitation letters from my father's business partner company ( we input their products to MM ). The problem is that we could not book the appointment as all are taken till the date we are planning to fly. Is there any chance or any other ways to solve this out? Hope to see your reply very soon.

  2. Hi Chris,

I'm afraid that you need to re schedule your visit.

I tried to call them at that time and try to give explanation but they said there is no other way once the appointment is booked.

please try to call them who knows they can be flexible

be aware that for some nationalities will take longer applying visa.

all the best to you, let us know the outcome.

    1. Hi there,

based on their requirement you only need to state the date of your leave.

if working: letter by your employer confirming your employment, the beginning of your employment, your monthly salary,
the beginning of vacation and resumption of work ; if student: university letter. Please note: in all cases original letter
      signed with blue ink)

but If it's me, I will ask my HR to state that my leave is approved as well. just in case

    2. Hi, thanks for the advice. yeah, i hope it just need to state the date of my leave. It's because I don't think I'll get an approved leave that is more than 3 months ahead :)

By the way, i supposed the german embassy will accept my application for Schengen visa, though i'll be only staying 2 days in germany (point of entry), while the rest of my vacation (~10 days) will be in Prague?

    3. yes, you suppose to be able to do that with schegen visa. But I'll encourage you to check when applying the visa, just to be sure :)

The Schengen Visa has made traveling between its 25 member countries (22 European Union states and 3 non-EU members) much easier and less bureaucratic. Traveling on a Schengen Visa means that the visa holder can travel to any (or all) member countries using one single visa, thus avoiding the hassle and expense of obtaining individual visas for each country. This is particularly beneficial for persons who wish to visit several European countries on the same trip. The Schengen visa is a “visitor visa”. It is issued to citizens of countries who are required to obtain a visa before entering Europe.

you may want to check their embassy as well: http://www.mzv.cz/singapore

do let us know yea :)
