How to Select or Archive ALL your Emails in the new Gmail interface

Time to clean up and start fresh.  I know sometimes you want a nice clean empty inbox in your Gmail especially with the new interface that Gmail / Google launched.

One way to do this is by Archive all your Gmail messages / Emails if you are not sure whether you still need that in the future but you want to remove them from your inbox view. But the problem is that you are unable to select all the emails at once .. we are not talking about 20 - 30 emails in Gmail but maybe about 2000 - 3000 emails or more (for me I have 23.000 of emails in my Gmail cause I never clear my inbox since the first time I've got my Gmail accounts). The next question is how to select all the emails at once in the new Gmail interface.

It can be a little bit confusing if you are using the Gmail's new interface. But don't worry Here is how to select or archive all your emails in Gmail (with the new Gmail interface)

1.   Find the tab under everything else and select show more messages

2.  Click the little box on the top left to select all the messages / emails in the current view, you'll see also an option to select ALL your emails / gmail messages this All 100 conversations on this page are selected. Select all 23000 conversations in Inbox

3. Click select all the XXXX conversations in the inbox and proceed by pressing the archive button or delete them away :)

loading...loading... and you'll have a nice looking empty inbox ! congrats just make it sure you clean it regularly.

if you are wondering "will my starred emails be gone after I archived my Gmail emails" don't worry, once archived the label and the starred will be still there ... the only change that happened is that the emails goes from inbox to all mails label and the rest are still intact.
