Centara Ras Fushi Resort Maldives Review

Location (Centara Ras Fushi Review)
Centara Ras Fushi located about 15 minutes from the Male. A lot of people concern about the Centara Ras Fushi that's located near Thilafusi (garbage island), from my observation ... yes it's visible (but I'm really not sure whether that's the one, but I can see some smoke coming up from the island). this photo below is taken from the receptionist area. In the other hand we don't have to worry about that because it's not visible from the water villa (because the water villas are facing the other direction). don't smell anything as well here.

Water Villa,
there was a little bit of hiccup for the room during check-in and we need to wait about 1.5 hour. we then realized that not all the water villa was ready, upon walking towards our room,  some villa wasn't ready as well and I believe the smaller section of the water villa (there are 2 sections if you take a look at the map: the smaller only with deluxe water villa and the other with the sunset water villa) isn't ready as well.

this is a picture of the sunset water villa section

the centara ras fushi as for today I would say 90% is operational, I even quite shock that they don't have any umbrella in the island. housekeeping is also quite slow (waited for a while for the staff to come and clean our room) but this all is still quite acceptable since they just opened 5 days ago

Restaurant
Overall the food is acceptable, nothing special but I'm quite surprise that the dessert was very nice (available during lunch and dinner buffet). the salad selection was good as well.

Overall I'm quite satisfied with the villa, I don't expect it as a good as other 5 stars resorts because it isnt. Centara Ras Fushi is a 4 stars resort.

Update 29th March 2013

they have a nice little pool, it's beautiful at night. there is a bar also in the pool.

this is the Bar, if you have all - inclusive package there is a lot of selection of cocktail (as for yesterday not all cocktails is available)  the only thing that lack from this bar is the wifi connection. I would love to have a wifi connection. it's available now

Wifi connection (free) only available at the receptionist and the rooms, the internet speed is slow, but well you suppose to enjoy the sea so it's a good thing that the connection is slow :p

the best rooms that you can choose for Deluxe water villa and sunset water villas are the one that located in the bigger section (start with number 300 and above) the smaller section, some the Deluxe water villas (100-200) are facing the island (the beach and the beach villas)

these are the photo from the sunset premium water deluxe villa

The beach villas, beside the villas (behind the benches) it's the Thai and Italian restaurant

The Gym

  1. Thanks for the initial review. When you say there are no umbrellas, do you mean there is nothing for you to sit under to protect you from the sun when lying by the pool?

    ReplyDelete
  2. I was referring the normal umbrella. They do have the beach umbrella. It was raining the other day and the receptionist said they didn't have the umbrella at that time

  3. Look forward to your update, it is an island I hope to visit someday,do you think it is a good resort for having 4 stars?
because it is near to the rubbish island is there rubbish on the beach or in the sea?
    How is the service?
    thankyou

    1. Yes, it's a good 4 stars resort. but don't compare it with Hilton / Shangrila :).

no there are no rubbish, it's a very clean sea

the service is good, the staff are helpful and they greet you along the way.

  5. Did you see any debris floating in the lagoon from Thilfushi (Rubbish Island)?

  6. Please, advise on beach villas:
    - they all are facing opposite side with no view of Thilafushi, right?
    - what is its readiness status? all are in full operation or same as villas some are still being under construction

    ReplyDelete
  7. Do the sunset villas get a lot of sun ? Love your photos

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Depends, the sunset do not exactly fall in front of the sunset water villas, so the villa towards the end get the best view.

  8. I cant be sure for the smaller section since no entry allowed as for the larger section yes it's facing the other side, you won't see that rubbish island nor the smoke.

It's operational but some rooms are not ready yet (in the larger section) and its under construction for the smaller section

  9. Dear Lazy,
please, advise on beach villas once again:

  10. Many thanks for beach villas comments!
Please, advise as well on hotel's facilities: how is fitness center?
And could you compare food being served for buffet with Centara Grand Maldives if were there...
What is given on your photo #5? Common zone available for all the guests?

    1. Picture 5 is the bar, any guest can visit. Those in the all inclusive package can drink free cocktail, mocktail, beer and wine.

Fitness centre, it's quite small. If not mistaken there are 2 treadmill, 1 walker and weight machine. I guess it can fit about 5-6 people.

For food it's pretty standard, I've had the breakfast twice and the food was the same. The only thing that I enjoyed during the lunch and dinner buffet is the dessert. If you are in the all inclusive you've option to go for Italian / Thailand restaurant instead the buffet. They will give you a full set starting with the appetizer end with the dessert

You told us the fitness center was small ... Is it possible to do some weightlifting there or is it really just one weight machine?

    Thx!

  18. Thank you for the great updates. As certain rooms are not finished yet, do you hear building noises during the day? (banging, drilling etc). Also can you confirm they fitted the British plug in the rooms for power? Many thanks again for posting at putting my mind at ease about visiting this resort on Sunday.

    1. Yes I did hear that during the day, they scrubbing the pavement. But noise level is minim, guess in 1-2 days it will be finished. They have universal point installed including the British, volt 220-250

  20. Villas on pic#9 are standard ones or deluxe? Can't see private jakuzzis therefore guess these are standard.
Does the exterior of deluxe beach villas differ from that one or these white seprating walls are all same?
Please, add any in-room photos of your water villas interior, if possible

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's standard I guess, the jacuzzi can't be seen from outside, you can take a look at the pictures that they have uploaded at the tripadvisor as for water villa (my room is a mess, so I didn't take any picture ) it looks the same like the one that they 've uploaded in the tripadvisor

    1. They have a slight variation, If you have all inclusive package I'll recommend you to go for the Thai restaurant. At then end I only had lunch and dinner at the Thai / Italian

  23. Hi lazy,

Did you went snorkling in the housereef yet? Is it nice or has all the construction damaged the reef alot?

    Thx

    1. Hi, I didn't go to the house reef, I did snorkel in front of the water villa (the bigger section) the border between dark blue water you can see corals and a lot of different kind of fish

  24. Are you there for a holiday? Or is this a corporate review trip? Is the resort open to normal paying guests? All your pictures don't show any other people, so that's why I was wondering! It seems too empty there!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yup, I'm a normal guest. The reason why it was empty because they just opened on last Sunday. It was raining this couple of day as well

  25. Just a question: how'snthe beach like? I went to The old Giravaru during a layover with my old airline (I'm a flight attendant) and I know it's quite Small.... Now it seems even smaller than before with all that buildings all around the island! Last year I went on holiday @ Lux and found it the best resort ever... I hope that my next holiday, booked @ CRF, is not going to be a mess! Thank you For sharing your experience, anyway!

    1. In my opinion the beach is quite small. Centara it's a beautiful resort but it's a 4 stars resort so in my opinion don't compare it with lux

  26. Could you, please, add some more photos of the island and resort buildings: restaurant, spa, reception zone, all the paths etc...
To see how it looks in general

  27. Hi sorry I mistakenly delete the comment about the dinner and lunch. It will cost you about 20usd -30 usd min per person
